Article Review : Taking Responsibility toward Nature

a
Author's : the Jakarta Post Weekender Magazine, July

I’ve searched a lot of article but I like this one because this article is talk about environment issue, and how the people should be responsibility for what they did to our nature. It’s very important to be discussed because we have to take care of our world for all future generations, this article also told us that the damage has befallen our earth cause of industrial contamination.
Briefly this article said that all human being have the responsibility to keep the Earth safe. But for a long time Industrial has been using natural resource to reach the profits without comparing the effect of planet’s population. There are several kind of renewable industries, they are the fishing industry which obtained from the sea or the ocean, the lumber and the pulpwood industries which obtained from the forest. Most of industrial use nonrenewable such as oil, gas, coal in moving their company. The industries have duty to develop alternatives to replace the resources which exploited by them.
On this article the writer tries to inform us that our world has climate problem and massive exploitation of the resources, so that he invites us to save the earth for our best future. He also told us that we should try using alternative energy to reduce a large effect on the Earth.
So, I assume that we should do something to prevent this problem, we have to save in using an energy especially for non renewable resources, because the natural balance of the ecosystem and the world is in our hand as a human. Industrial contamination is only one of the causes, but the important thing that we have to do is to increase our awareness in the preservation and the usage of natural resources.

Article Review of Love: By Ralph Waldo Emerson

I chose this article because love is something that always people talk about. We have our own perception about what is love and how we understand love its-self. And as we know everyone always be happy and feel so great when they are falling in love ;’).

This article is very interesting because Emerson gives a detailed description of the feeling LOVE, love is a feeling that happens just like a spark, it could happen to anybody at anyplace with anyone. The concept that love is between the youth is not right. Love takes place when one is young, but grows gradually when one grows old.   The passion of love could be explained at any age, be it twenty, forty or eighty, it does not matter and he who has drawn the wonderful picture of his love, may have missed something when it has grown old, but with patience it could be found out and made it more beautiful.  Love is a wonderful feel that is being felt and experienced. All living beings experience love as God’s Mercy.

Actually, i think that Emerson tries to explain about the essential of love, and I supposed that he wants to tell us that love is not only a matter of desire or lust for sex, attracted to the opposite gender or even just to seek attention, but love is an attempt to improve the lives of virtue and wisdom. and Pure love is when the soul merges with God as a form of perfection. Emerson says that, through this feel of Love, many have crossed borders, some may have done mistakes, some may have sacrificed and many more.

And i try to give my stand point of this article, That Love is something absurd, we often misunderstanding about what is true love and this article gives us a new understanding of what love is, how love can grow and be felt by all living being, not only humans but also animals, plants feel the same way, although in different ways.

The Similarities or Differences Between Online and Printed Mass Media.

Nowadays many Indonesian people, especially teenagers or college students, who use the internet as a medium to meet their information needs. It happened because the trend of smart phones and gadgets are already widespread in Indonesian society audiences. Although, basically both print and online mass media have the same goal, namely to provide information, but there are some differences that can be the hallmark of each of the mass media.
The first difference, online media can only be accessed through the Internet, so that the online media is not very familiar to the lower middle income people. While the print media such as newspapers, was better known by the people of Indonesia because it has existed since colonial times. From the technical point of view and style of writing there are also differences, the online media there is no length restriction in the writing of the manuscript as a web page can hold any text throughout. For the length print manuscript has been restricted, e.g. 5-7 pages. In the script element procedures, online media generally allows journalists to directly upload his writings, in contrast to the print media must be in the ACC by the editors before being loaded.
The next difference in terms of editing, online media is more favored because if there is an error in the news writing, the author can immediately fix writings. While the print media in the event of an error in writing and are now in press or published, then writing it could not be repaired anymore. In the published schedule, the print media must be in production on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly), in contrast to the print media that can be issued at any time, except for the specific rubrics. And the latter in terms of distribution, despite the printed media cannot be directly read by the general public before through the distribution process, while the online media as a news or writings have been uploaded to the website, all the people around the world who has access to the internet directly read.
From the above, you can clearly see that most of the differences in print journalism to online media only on technical issues.
In terms of nature, there is a similarity between online media to electronic media such as radio and television. They are always required to present the message of the most up to date as quickly as possible. They also usually do not have to wait until all the data is collected. So there is no data, though only slightly, they immediately report it. If there are new developments regarding the incident, they report it again. And so on. Therefore, the rules of writing in the online media tend to be free, do not get too hung up on the rules of language and journalism generally accepted.

What Youth Means to Me

Youth was the pioneer in all things. The various of changes that occurred in any nation, youth was its driving. Behind every social transformation, the main motor is youth. Like the sun, then the young people are like a ray of sunshine in the middle of the day and scorching heat that seared. Variety of talents, potential, tendency, both lead to good or evil has the same strong encouragement when the youth. So that, the failures and the successes of people, the maturity of the human personality is determined by parent’s education at his youth. The youth is considered as the next generation that will lead the long journey of the nation.
The youth of Indonesia with nationalism is expected to be able to bring this nation to its golden age and make this nation as the big and rich country. And history has proved that the youth are the icons of the change of nation. The role of youth in the history of the nation of Indonesia has produced a national movements which bear on the independence of Indonesia. National movement is an attempt at providing awareness of the Indonesian people to the reality of the oppression and the injustices of the colonial Government of the Netherlands. Through this youth a Indonesia nation was able to birth, rise, stand and walk into a sovereign nation, with various barriers and obstacles that it faces.
Now, the youth population of Indonesia reached 64 million people (based on population census of 2010). This figure is equivalent to 15 times the population of Singapore. If this large population could be used to its full potential.  And it is not impossible that a lot of Indonesian youth will could show off to the global level. The youth have a very important role in supporting the advancement of nation. However, with the big energy, talent, and creativity that they have, youth very likely to become an agent of change for the country. Even, many of Indonesian youth who have been successful  with their achievement in the many of championships in the world.
According to the University of Indonesia social observer Devie Rachmawati, a large population of youth could be a blessing in the demographic and we deserve to be grateful for it. Because in several countries of Europe and Japan, a number of youth have decreased productivity because the large number of old people. "However, a large number of these can be a disaster if the quality of the youth demographic Indonesia less promising," explained Devie, she also suggested that the government have to make a grand design about the direction of future development. Because, for youth as part of potential development needs to be empowered to be able to progress in advancing nation, and they are ready to face global challenges.

Hei tidakkah kau lelah jika terus berlari.? Istirahatlah!

Hah kau begitu pilu dibuat nafsumu..
Mengeram dan mengendap dalam jantung dan paru
Tak mengherankan rasanya jika kau hanyalah budak
Yang hanya bisa mengeluh dan merangkak dalam kegempitan penuh sesak…
                Oh apa maksud diri ini?

Maksud ingin bercerita.
Tapi jatuh dalam derita
Malang nasibmu, wahai kau pengeluh

Aargghh cukup hentikan!! Pergi kau ilusi.
